Melissa Welsh is a Tech Entrepreneur, Author and National Award-Winning Master Photographer from Nelson, BC. She is a fun, free-spirited individual with a deep love for adventure.
Welsh has founded and co-founded companies in both the fintech & ed-tech sectors. Her most recent roles as CEO and Executive Producer at Live It Earth found her producing a series of documentary films and developing a nature-netflix like platform for the K-7 education market.
At Live It Earth, she led a bilingual team committed to innovation, sustainability and environmental stewardship. They delivered educational programs that spanned from grassroots community outreach to strategic partnerships with national organizations. Under her four years of leadership, they achieved a 5000% increase in revenue and successfully expanded both the enterprise and partnerships across Canada.
Her photography work can be found in private collections around the world as well as in regional, national and international publications. Career highlights include representing Canada at the World Photographic Cup and winning both National and Provincial awards for her work. She is known to climb trees, jump in helicopters and wade through mud-bogs to get "the shot".
When Melissa is not working or volunteering, you will find her adventuring in the Kootenays with her friends and family.
